Mountain Bike – Downhill

Saturday June 24th, 4:30pm – Marquette Mountain

Downhill racing in Marquette Michigan has a long history, the date has moved back a few weeks but the course builders have remained the same. The lifts at Marquette Mountain will take you to the top. Expect the 600′ vertical drop to challenge any rider’s skill set, riders will encounter jumps, drops, rock gardens and berms. These obstacles will have ride arounds for novice riders, but proper downhill safety equipment and bike are strongly recommended.

We will have Men’s Open and sport categories along with women’s and youth (under 18). Riders will have practice time Saturday before racing begins at 4pm. Riders are allowed two timed runs, best run is used for their placing.

The first tracks have been made on marquette’s classic downhill trail Gypsy road and things are drying out nicely! Expect high speeds, technical rock gardens, berms and jumps as you try and complete 600 vertical feet as fast as you can down Marquette Mountain! Expect more changes to the course this year, with more begineer friendly options through the infamous rock garden. Full face helmet and body armor strongly suggested!
