Youth Events

906 Adventure Team

The Marquette Trails Festival offers young trail lovers several youth specific options to compete throughout the course of the weekend.

Registration for each event is only $10 until race day when it increases to $15. Youth awards will be presented at the same time as the award ceremony for the corresponding adult races.

Sunday, June 23rd – 8:00am Youth Mountain Bike Race

The race starts and finishes at Marquette Mountain ski area, covering a course about 3 miles in length. The course is roughly 1/2 singletrack for a real mountain bike race feel and 1/2 gravel road to allow racers to pass. Boy and girl age groups are as follows: 5 & under, 6-7, 8-9, 10-11, 12-15.

Saturday, June 22nd – 11:00am Youth Trail Run

The kids race will start at 11am at the South Trail head (just up the road from Marquette Mountain) and run a course to the finish line at the ski hill. The course will be approximately 1.5 miles in length with both singletrack and gravel road sections. Boy and girl age groups are as follows: 5 & under, 6-7, 8-9, 10-11, 12-15.

Friday, June 21st – 4:00pm Youth Dual Slalom Race

The youth Dual Slalom race takes place on the Dual Slalom Course located across from the Ski Hill about an 1/8th of a mile up the Benson Grade. Must be 15 years old or younger.

Additional Options for Kids

Competitive youth are also welcomed into age group categories of the adult 13 mile cross country mountain bike race and 5k trail runs. Entry in these events can be combined with youth specific events to receive a discount.
